Roman practises predominantly in Criminal Law, Regulatory Law and Enforcement, Administrative Law, and Disciplinary Law. He also accepts briefs in Family Law.

Immediately prior to joining the private bar, Roman was a Senior Federal Prosecutor with the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions specialising in fraud, and financial and corporate crime. He also prosecuted Commonwealth crimes relating to child abuse material and drug offences.

Previously, Roman was a Crown Prosecutor with the Northern Territory Director of Public Prosecutions for almost a decade appearing in jury trials involving a variety of crimes. Roman has also held a role as a Principal Lawyer with the QLD Crime and Corruption Commission. He was also a Senior Lawyer with the Brisbane City Council.

Roman commenced his legal career as a solicitor with Clayton Utz Lawyers in Commercial Law and Corporate Law. He was a Judge’s Associate to Justice Riley (as his Honour was then) of the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory.
